Banquet (Clifford Centre)

15th May, Friday

Mixed beef special set (Beef Noodles)

I think cabbage is ugly. And wouldn't you agree that the cabbage made the soup look less appetizing? (I do eat cabbage, by the way)

I wasn't expecting much from this, but it turned out okay. The soup was not bad, though it had a bit too much MSG. The beef innards were quite good too. The meatballs weren't satisfying though; they didn't have the natural beef flavour. The rice was horribly hard and I ate less than half of it. A bit on the expensive side. $5.50

V's verdict: 6/10

Yong tau foo

Oops, you can't see any of the ingredients except for bittergourd and green chilli. Well, this tasted decent too.

I seldom order yong tau foo outside, because of 2 reasons: 1) my mother's yong tau foo tastes so good that the yong tau foo outside cannot make it relatively, and 2) the ingredients are sometimes left outside and exposed for too long, making them potentially a sponge for bacteria.

K ordered this, and I tried some of it. The ingredients didn't taste as fresh as the ones my mother bought from the market, but it was still acceptable. The soup was all right.

K claims that it tastes like the Malaysian version, so she gave it a high score.

V's verdict: 6/10
K's verdict: 8.5/10
